ELKINS — Robert C. Byrd used a three-run sixth inning to get past Elkins, 10-8, Saturday in Big 10 Conference play at EHS Field.
The Tigers trailed 7-3 before erupting for five runs in the fifth inning to take a one-run lead.
Owen Haddix had a three-run double during the outburst, while Cameron Biller drew a bases-loaded walk.
Haddix also had an RBI sacrifice fly in the second inning.
Tanner Cook cracked a two-run homer and Luke Sperry an RBI single in the top of the sixth for the Flying Eagles.
Charlie Smoak had a two-run single in the fourth to give Elkins a 3-2 cushion.
However, the visitors struck for five runs in the top of the fifth in taking a 7-3 lead.
Nick George, who finished with three RBIs on the day, had a two-run double in the frame, Nathaniel Junkins delivered an RBI single and two runners crossed on an error.
Rylan Rock went the final 2 1/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up one runs on one hit and struck out five.
Anthony Corsini went the first four innings, surrendering three runs on three hits and Sperry worked 2/3 of a frame and gave up four unearned runs.
Biller took the loss in two innings of relief of starter Gage Huffman.
Biller gave up three runs on two hits and Huffman seven runs on seven hits.
The Tigers (2-5) are scheduled to visit Grafton at 6 p.m. today for another league game.
The Flying Eagles improved to 5-1 and will entertain North Marion at 5 p.m. today.
