About Stephen Whitelaw
After completing his first degree in pure mathematics, Stephen spent a year writing games in the computer industry before obtaining a Masters degree in computing. This led him to becoming a member of staff at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, where he lectured in computing for three years.
Stephen is a highly energetic person who combines a solid educational and technical background with 30+ years of business experience in the starting and growing of numerous businesses, one winning a Deloitte Touche Fast 50 award in 1999 for being one of the fastest growing technology companies in the UK, while he himself has been described as a “rebel without a pause”!
Based upon his experience Stephen is a regular keynote speaker to Fortune 500 companies such as Google, Cisco, GroupOn, Microsoft and Oracle.
Stephen first became interested in bitcoin in January 2011, around two years after its initial launch, he describes the technology as fascinating and is currently somewhere down the bitcoin rabbit-hole! During the first lockdown he became a ‘Bitcoin Certified Professional’ and for the past four years has been helping crypto users find lost or forgotten passwords to their wallets at his new company “Bring Back My Crypto” www.bringbackmycrypto.com
