Ryan Tannehill has worn the same shirt with the Oilers logo on it before other games this season

Houston sports fans are still sensitive about anything to do with the Oilers, so eyebrows were raised when Ryan Tannehill went through his pregame routine wearing a shirt with an Oilers logo on it Sunday at NRG Stadium.
Tannehill is a Texas boy, growing up in Big Spring about 450 miles northwest of Houston and playing his college ball much closer to town at Texas A&M. Tannehill was 8 years old when the Oilers bailed on Houston and moved to Tennessee after the 1996 season.
Regardless of how Tannehill felt about the Houston Oilers as a child, it’s clear he didn’t save the pregame shirt specifically for his team’s visit to Houston.
