GIRLS BASKETBALL
West Branch 50, Minerva 28 – The Warriors captured their 800th win in program history on Saturday with a dominating victory over the Lions. Anna Lippiatt scored a game-high 17 points to lead West Branch while Livvie Showalter added 10.
Champion 52, Brookfield 35 – Behind a 16-of-17 night from the free-throw-line, the Golden Flashes topped the Warriors in a big way. Ava Howell (20 points), Isabella Meyer (14 points) and Lorinda Dodrill (16 points) led the way in the victory. Audrey Reardon and Anna Reichart scored 7 points apiece to lead Brookfield.
Niles 38, Mineral Ridge 33 – Ava Hulett tallied a game-high 16 points for Mineral Ridge but it wasn’t enough for the Rams as the Red Dragons started, and finished, the game on the right foot to earn the win. Gianna Wagner led the way with 12 points but three others scored 6 points or more for Niles.
Girard 33, Lakeview 31 – After a slow first half for both teams, the Indians held off the Bulldogs thanks to a strong fourth quarter. With the game on the line, Seyhan Dede, who tallied 9 total points, hit two clutch free throws to put the Indians up two. Mia Malito scored a game-high 10 points in the win. Maggie Pavlansky led Lakeview with 9 points.
Sharpsville (PA) 52, Struthers 51 – Despite going down 18-9 early, the Wildcats battled back on Saturday, but fell just short in the end. Chloe Neider and Ella Croyle both scored 12 points apiece for Struthers while Alli Davis led Sharpsville with 15 points.
Columbiana 49, United 39 – Tori Long scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Clippers to a 10-point victory Saturday night. Caitlyn Pleska added 13 in the victory.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Campbell 77, Crestview 43 – The Red Devils improved to 17-1 on Saturday with a convincing victory over the Rebels. Kevin Moore led the way once again with a game-high 24 points while Jameer Weaver chipped in 17 and Da’Shaun Will added 9. Kirkland Miller scored 16 points for Crestview.
Springfield 58, Jackson-Milton 32 – The Tigers continued their undefeated season on Saturday with a dominating victory over the Blue Jays. Jake Joyce led the way with 17 points, Beau Brungard added 13 and Alex Rothwell added 12. Adam Wharry also chipped in with 10 points. Aaren Romigh led Jackson-Milton with 13 points.
South Range 63, Hubbard 47 – Landon Moore exploded for a game-high 22 points to lead the Raiders to a victory over the Eagles on Saturday. Cory Penick tallied 10 for the Raiders as well. Logan Bates scored 13 points for Hubbard and Riley Heckert tallied 10.
Brookfield 70, Maplewood 43 – Led by a 26-point outing from Donovan Pawlowski the Warriors dominated the Rockets on Saturday in a massive win. Isaiah Jones added 15 and David Pawlowski added 12 in the win. Masyn Webster led Maplewood with 9 points.
