ROSWELL, Ga. — Former NFL player and Roswell resident Demaryius Thomas has died. He was 33.
Roswell police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that Thomas was found dead in his Roswell home Thursday night. They say preliminary information points to his death stemming from a medical issue and investigators have no reason to believe otherwise.

The wide receiver was a standout during his time playing football at Georgia Tech between 2007 and 2009 before being drafted into the NFL by the Denver Broncos in 2010.
In 2016, Thomas and the Broncos won Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers.
He also made five consecutive Pro Bowls.

In 2019, Thomas began playing for the New England Patriots and was traded shortly after to the New York Jets.
He announced his retirement from the NFL in June 2021.
