Hey there listeners, it’s Brett Molina. Welcome back to Talking Tech. I’m a huge fan of Netflix. I love using it. Recently, I’ve been binging Seinfeld because I haven’t watched it a really long time. I also tried watching, Breaking Bad, which I know a lot of people that love and they think it’s a wonderful TV series. I watch an episode or two and it was good. It’s feeling a little too dark and I wasn’t ready for dark kind of TV so I stopped watching it. But what happens is with Netflix is even if you start watching a show and you don’t like it, it sticks around your continue watching section for a while, even though you’re not really watching it regularly. The streaming giant now has a solution for this. You can read about this in my story on tech.usatoday.com

You finally have the option to remove shows or movies from your continue watching section. So let’s say you’re like me, you get into a TV show, you get into a movie, you realize you don’t like it. It’s sticking around your continue watching section. You can get rid of it completely. Netflix confirmed the details of this in a recent blog post. Here’s how you do it. I’ve tried it out.

If you’re on the app, you’ll see the particular show you’re trying to remove. In that tile, you’ll see three dots stacked vertically. You click on that and then you’ll click on remove from row. I tried this, it didn’t work as well as I thought. I had to do it a couple times. And even then it still stuck around. But this is the trick, it works if you have it, and you’re using it on say your phone or your tablet. If you’re watching on TV, go to the show, click on it, and then select, remove from continue watching. If you’re there and you realize, “Oh, I made a mistake,” or, “Oh, you know what? I want to keep watching that,” there’s a back arrow. You can click on that and that’ll undo the removal.

I love it. I think it’s a great little feature. It’s a tiny little detail, but I think it makes a huge difference, especially if you’re trying to keep up with a bunch of different shows and you have a lot sitting in that continue watching section, nice way to prune that and make it a little bit easier and cleaner and you’re not just littered with a zillion shows that you still need to watch. You can read more about Netflix and all the news related it to the streaming giant on tech.usatoday.com. Listeners, let’s hear from you.
