Karnataka rural development and panchayat raj minister KS Eshwarappa, who has been booked by the Udupi police for abetting the suicide of contractor Santosh Patil, said on Wednesday that he will not step down from the post.

ED attaches 8 properties belonging to Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday attached eight properties belonging to Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
Malik, the 62-year-old senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is presently in judicial custody. He was arrested on February 23 by the ED in connection with a money laundering case against fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and some of his close aides.

AIMIM’s Akbaruddin Owaisi acquitted in 2012 hate speech case
Akbaruddin Owaisi, the AIMIM leader, was acquitted in 2012 hate speech case by a special sessions court in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The court said that the the prosecution failed to produce proper evidences for the same.
The court also directed Akbaruddin Owaisi not to make any controversial speeches in future, keeping the national integrity in view.
