There was plenty of drama for the US Open Cup debuts of D’Feeters Kicks SC and Denton Diablos FC. D’Feeters from US Club Soccer’s Roja League, emerged victorious over the reigning NPSL champions, 3-2. A very back-and-forth affair saw goals from five different players in the first half and bookings handed out in the second. By the end of the game, three players had seen red, leaving D’Feeters with ten men and Denton with nine to finish the match. Carlos Flores received the final red just seconds after being shown a yellow for dissent about an apparent missed goal-line handball in the final minutes.
